10 million euro deposit obtained

Finance minister Besim Beqaj and director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the Western Balkans, Claudio Viezzolido have signed an agreement for providing 10 million euro worth between Government of the Republic of Kosovo and the EBRD.

Beqaj said that today on the anniversary of Kosovo's membership in EBRD, an extremely important step was taken towards establishment of the first contractual relationships to support the deposit fund of Kosovo. He said that they also identified other projects through contacts they have had during this year including projects in the railway system of Republic of Kosovo. Meanwhile Viezzolido said that this is a historical moment as it was the first project between the two institutions but it will not be the end. Violeta Arifi - Krasniqi, the managing director of the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo considered that this agreement is of particular importance to the deposit insurance system.
