Police intervention required for surgery in UCCK

Police intervention required for surgery in UCCK
A misunderstanding, negligence or lack of cooperation between some doctors could be the reason that a patient had to wait over an hour for a surgical intervention in UCCK for placement of a fistula that was prepared for him.
The surgery was completed only an hour and a half after intervention of his family, hospital management and police.
Today in the morning, Dr. Elmi Olluri, a specialist in vascular surgery has asked assistant doctor Assistant Nexhmedin Shala to assist him in the operating room for placement of a fistula on the grounds that the he did not have any assistant.
Assistant director Shala contacted acting chief of vascular surgery Dr. Hajriz Rudari to ask for an assistant for Dr. Olluri. However, his request was not fulfilled.
Only after an hour and half when the problem was reported to the office of assistant director, the family members of the patient arrived to exert pressure on the grounds that their case was not completed, Kosovapress learns from its sources in UCCK, but later on, the situation was also explained by public relations officials.
It is announced the case will proceed to Professional Ethics Committee.
It is reported that the patient’s life was not jeopardized
